A year or so ago, I had a conversation with my friend Rachael, about her dream of running yoga classes in the open air in Ninesprings.
Now, here we are a year later and Rachael is a fully trained yoga instructor with classes in Yeovil two evenings a week, a monthly yoga workshop and ‘Park Yoga’ in the summer in Ninesprings.
Park Yoga is supported by South Somerset District Council and the Fine Family Foundation, and occurs every Sunday morning at 9.30am by the café in Ninesprings, until 1st September. I have only made it to one of these, not being a big morning person, but me and my little girl (age 4) loved it! We pitched up under a tree with our yoga mat/ towel. It’s a large group and Rachael was working it in her headset!
I’ve also been to one of Rachael’s workshops in the picturesque Montacute Village Hall, with another of my school friends, Clare. It’s a two hour workshop on a Saturday from 10am, which Rachael keeps exclusively small – for groups of 10. She puts time and attention into the setup of the hall and there’s a break in the middle- we had earl grey tea in china tea cups and a selection of fruit and cookies.
Rachael’s longstanding passion and knowledge for yoga really does shine through; I remember as a teenager, hanging out with Rachael at home – she would talk me through chakras and meditations. If you are living or visiting South Somerset please look up Lunasana Yoga!
