Being a mum of three little ones, I have been to a lot of play parks over the last six years! I have to say, these two parks are two of my favourite – both safe and enclosed – and so beautifully set in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
Hardington is a small village located to the South West of Yeovil. There is a community field and playpark which has only been there since 2012. It is tucked away, so I’m going to let you know exactly how to find it! If you’re driving up from East Coker through Hardington then turn right just before you see St Mary’s Church, it’s then immediately right again down a country lane, it will take you to a small car park.
You’ll be surrounded by fields of green, and I often spot cattle, horses and sheep grazing in the fields nearby. The kids will be entertained by a playhouse with slide and climbing wall, swings, football pitch, zip line, tunnel and obstacle course!
The other play area, I have mentioned in a previous post is at Ninesprings. You can park at Goldenstones car park and follow the path past the café to the play area, alternatively there is some parking right next to the play area, or it’s a short walk from the Yeo Leisure Park area – just follow the footpath that runs alongside the stream walking with the cinema to the right of you.
The kids can climb the crow’s nest and enjoy the sweeping views towards Summerhouse Hill – bring buckets and spades to make the most of the sandpits.
